Looks way better than picture. Looks expensive; rich colors. Good quality. What appears to be off white is more like a crean/ecru. It was to my liking. UPDATE #1: I loved the first one so much, I bought a second one. It was the last one in stock. It is slightly different in color, but I'm not using them side by side, so I was ok with that. But it smells! I've purchased my fair share of wool carpets, but my guess is that it was stored in a damp place. I've been vacuuming and airing it, but not seeing much results. I'm giving it one more week, but am doubtful for any improvement. UPDATE #2: I put white vinegar in a spray bottle and liberally misted the top, let dry, then sprayed the other side and it removed 90% of the odor thus far, so I'm keeping it. And once vinegar dries, there is no vinegar residual it's def a beautiful rug and good quality.Love this rug and it is perfect!I have been buying this brand and "pattern/empire" for a few yrs now. I have 10 of them, 5 large, 2 round, and some smaller in same pattern. The quality and feel of this rug is 2nd to none. I fell in love with it the first time I saw it online. I have only bought the black/gold/beige combo and the wine/gold/beige combo rugs, but they are stunning. The pile is thick, plush and feels wonderful on bare feet. :-) you must take great care if you ever have a spill or accident on this type rug though. It has happened twice here but you would never know it because we were very careful and did everything properly..no chemicals..I have nothing but awesome things to say about this brand of rug..especially the empire!! They are think and beautiful... sadly they are also 2 different colors. The first is heaven in blacks and greys. The second is black and green. Pictures show the differences. Love the quality. I just don't know why one has grey and the other is green?Like it, good quality. Fits nicely at home entranceThe rug looks nice. But the problem is in shipping, somehow during shipping it must have been pressed under some heavy weight and caused a hard fold on the rug. I am disappointed.Beautiful rug! I purchased to replace a 4x6 rug This one is one inch short of that on both sides. So a tad smaller than what I it should be. Still beautiful and would order again. Super fast shipping!!The rug is beautiful, appears well made and the colors are muted and fairly close to those shown in the photo and not bright gold as seen in the photo of the 8'3"x11' size. However the rug shown at the top as the 4x6 is NOT correct and possibly one that is from the same Collection but a smaller size. The 4x6 has more detail around the center design and along the border as shown in the photo included here. Very pleased. Well worth the price!
