I purchased the teal color as I wanted to bring some bright color into a dull brownish dining room. The colors in this rug are truly vibrant. The blue colors range from a dark teal to medium to almost turquoise through the use of combinations of navy or tan threads. The background is not white, but a very light beige. The rust and orange colors offer a pop of contrast. I placed the rug on top of carpet, so, it is definitely soft enough for me. It's under a dining room table, so not getting any foot traffic. But I walked on it a little before moving furniture onto it, and it was nice to walk on. It is thin, but that's what I wanted in this rug. After lying flat with some heavy items to hold down the corners for a couple of days, it is laying flat on its own. I love the color, the style, and the brightness it adds to my room. And it arrived a couple of days earlier than promised.
