Beautiful design, heavy & thick, a soft, cushy rug which feels great on your feet. Yes, it will shed for a time which is the nature of a natural fiber like wool but it will wear beautifully for years to come. We have purchased a number of this brand over the years, and admire the quality. Our only complaint is how very difficult it is to judge color by stock photos and with all the differing factors in taking photos. But we also realize the lighting, direction of the fabric nap, and camera/screen differences, dye lots & being handmade can all affect the colors & design interpretation. As we thought the wider border had an ivory background, the same as the ivory design backgrounds in the rest of the rug we were surprised to find it more of a pale taupe/grayish color (not a fan of gray). As there was no mention of this color & as the photos provided look all ivory colored, we expected a brighter ivory color and yet the rest of the colors burgundy, burnished red, gold, dark green and olive green are represented quite well and though it threw us for a few days to decide whether it worked with our other furnishings, in the end we decided the overall quality, designs beauty & price are excellent. Price can't be beat...This quality would cost much more elsewhere. The rug is gorgeous and already we have had compliments on our choice so we expect to enjoy this for years to come.
