I'm afraid I don't know much about rugs other than what they look like lying there on the floor, but.....This is a very nice THICK soft rug that matches the color in the photo fairly well. I would say the colors are pretty subdued, not so deep as maybe the photo is suggesting. Lies pretty flat even after first rolled out. I have had rugs that take weeks to flatten out. This one is behaving pretty well, except right at the corners there is a little upturn and it's only been a couple of days.The surprising thing is how thick the rug is considering the price. I have purchased quite a few rugs (I have tile floors) and they're pretty thin. The only disadvantage is that the rug is too thick to a door to pass over, so if the rug is near a door, the door will be blocked.Looks great in the bedroom and adds a nice point of interest in front of the bed.
